The NFFF and FM Global Announce Cooperative Agreement to Add FM Global Training to FHLN.Net

To assist the nation’s firefighters in effective and efficient response to sprinkler-protected properties, the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation and FM Global have announced that all programs from the FM Global Fire Service Learning Network are now available through the NFFF’s Fire Hero Learning Network. Users can take advantage of single sign-on to log in once to FHLN, see FM Global Fire Service Learning Network programs in FHLN’s Available Programs, click on any module, and automatically transfer to the FM Global Fire Service Learning Network to view and complete that module.

“We’re excited to bring FM Global’s vetted training to the Fire Hero Learning Network audience of over 165,000 firefighters,” said NFFF CEO Victor Stagnaro. “FM Global’s Fighting Fire in Sprinklered Buildings is the gold standard training available in the fundamentals of pre-planning for and responding to system activations at protected properties. And, with the additional three modules in advanced pre-incident planning, fire departments will have new tools to refine and expand their pre-planning program to keep pace with today’s challenges at commercial and industrial properties, like changing occupancies and robotic order fulfillment systems in warehouses.”

Michael Spaziani, Senior Staff Engineering Specialist at FM Global and FM Global Fire Service Learning Network Project Manager, adds, “FM Global is pleased to welcome FHLN registered users to our network through this simple, streamlined connection. Our goal has always been to make our protected properties pre-planning and response training available to the entire fire service. Having our programs appear on FHLN is a huge step toward this goal and we’re grateful to the Foundation for this partnership.”

To take advantage of this easy access to FM Global Fire Service Learning Network modules, users need an account on each network that uses the same email address. If the user doesn’t already have an FM Global Fire Service Learning Network account, they will be prompted to create one and their FHLN information will already be filled in. Once registration is complete on both networks, moving from FHLN to FM Global Fire Service Learning Network to take modules is seamless. Just click on a program with an FM Global badge then click Launch Program.

To get started, sign in on FHLN.Net and choose one of the programs labeled “ON FM GLOBAL.” Both organizations recommend that new users begin with the first program of the four-part Fighting Fire in Sprinklered Buildings certificate, “Automatic Sprinkler System Design and Function.”
